Pulse Input

Pulse input functionality allows gateways to count pulses from devices such as water meters, gas meters, or energy meters.

Features

  • Supports pulse counting for devices with digital outputs.
  • Configurable as a binary input or pulse counter.
  • Stores pulse counts as a 64-bit unsigned integer, allowing up to 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 pulses.

Configuration

  1. Connect the pulse output of the meter to the gateway's digital input.
  2. Use the rayleighconnect™ cloud platform to configure the input as a pulse counter.
  3. Set the pulse weight (e.g., 1 pulse = 1 liter of water).

Use Cases

  • Monitoring water or gas consumption in residential or industrial settings.
  • Counting production cycles in manufacturing processes.
  • Integrating pulse meters into energy management systems.
