LED indicators

Status (left LED)

Status indicator is present on all gateways.

There are three colors. Usuall meaning is described in below table:

STATUS LED Color Description
GREEN Connected to cloud system
YELLOW Not connected to cloud system
RED Used only in recovery mode

Normal operation

During normal operation following STATUS LED states can be observed:

Connected to cloud platform

STATUS LED State Frequency
On (1s) / Off (1s) 0.5 Hz
On (0.2s) / Off (0.2s) 2.5 Hz

Not connected to cloud platform

STATUS LED State Frequency
On (1s) / Off (1s) 0.5 Hz
On (0.2s) / Off (0.2s) 2.5 Hz

Recovery mode

When device is in recovery mode OFF state is replaced with RED:

Connected to cloud platform

Not connected to cloud platform

STATUS LED State Frequency

Blinking frequency

Within 10 seconds of start/restart of the gateway STATUS LED blinks faster (2.5 Hz).

If fast blinking period occurs multiple times during short observation window it may indicate an issue. Most common causes are:

  • Insufficient power supply current.
  • Power supply voltage drops below 5 VDC (PRO-series gateways).
  • Reboot commands sent from server or diagnostic tool.

Critical failure

No blinking indicates a critical failure.

STATUS LED State Description
Off No power, gateway off.
On Critial failure, gateway not started

Modem (right LED)

Modem indicator is present on gateways equipped with cellular modem.

Similarly to Status indicator there are three colors.

MODEM LED Color Description
GREEN Connected to network, PDP context active
YELLOW PDP context inactive, check APN configuration
RED Usually indicates SIM issue, eg. no SIM detected

Blinking frequency

During modem initialization the LED may be turned On/Off.

During normal operation Modem indicator does not blink.

Status and Modem indicators

Common combined states:
